– A day on the school slope followed by a refresher course.

– Four days of high-volume flights, with an average of two flights per day at different sites.

– Please note that courses run from Sunday to Thursday, but Friday and Saturday are also available for postponements in case of bad weather.

– You can also choose to perfect your skills on an ultra-light paraglider.

Ground Skills:

Prerequisites: completion of an initiation course. Objective: develop autonomy in take-off phases.

• Backward launch
• Adjusting the landing (timing)
• Managing acceleration to glide
• Independently performing backward launches
• Low and high speeds on flat ground
• Low and high speeds on slope
• Reaching the folding area while inflating
• Varying launch profiles
• Backward inflation in wind (15km/h)
• Stabilizing the canopy facing forward with brake lines
• Collapsing the brake lines or rear lines in wind (15km/h)

Flight Skills:

Prerequisites: Completion of an initiation course. Objective: Learn to descend, manage the roll axis, and develop autonomy in landing. Initial certification possible at the end of the course if the achieved level is sufficient.

Theoretical Knowledge:

Prerequisites: Completion of theoretical courses from an initiation course. Objective: Integrate the various elements necessary to start the activity safely. Initial certification possible at the end of the course if the achieved level is sufficient.

• Flight regimes: speed and associated glide ratio
• Mental: stress management and knowing when to abandon
• Simple flight plan, radio failure, emergency procedures
• Regulations, priorities, legal obligations, visual flight rules…
• Aerological traps
• Safety box
• Spiral stability and centrifugal force
• Clouds
• Weather briefing for calm conditions
• Flight mechanics (why it flies, angle of attack, angles)
• Cockpit setup

7 students maximum per group, new equipment per student (helmet, harness, parachute and paraglider), recent vehicles in good condition.

In summer, we use the ski lifts to get to the take-off sites, to limit the number of cars on the roads and reduce our carbon footprint, as well as for the comfort of our students.
