A paragliding initiation course in Les Arcs is the start of a magnificent adventure. It’s also an essential step if you’ve never paraglided before.
You’ll learn how to fly on a school slope and make your first “smart jumps”.. At the same time, you’ll be learning the theoretical basis for paragliding (especially wind and weather). Then, one fine morning, it’s time for your first big flight. After take-off, the magical moment when the ground gently moves away, a feeling of lightness and freedom invades you, fresh air blows on your face, the valley opens up to you…
When your feet touch the ground again, you’ll never look up at the sky again. At the end of the introductory course, we’ll give you your free flight passport, certifying your training.
The aim of the advanced paragliding course at Les Arcs is AUTONOMY! Both on take-off and landing. After the in-flight exercises, the instructor will guide you less and less on landing, until you’ve got the height and glide reference points and the reflexes to round off at the right moment. Gentle guidance to give you the confidence to repeat the exercises “at home” ;).
During this course we’ll be studying fast descent techniques, ears, 360, perfecting our body language during take-off and landing, starting to exploit lift: dynamic or thermal and learning how to use a vario. For those who don’t already have it, we’ll be preparing for the initial license to be validated on the free flight passport. Finally, as soon as possible, we’ll make a mountain flight
with take-off at 2700 m from the aiguille Grive, accessible after just a 30-minute walk, with almost 2000 m of ascent and descent.
During the ski season, if you are an autonomous pilot, we offer you a cocktail of skiing (on and off-piste) and paragliding.
Depending on the day’s weather, we’ll fly or ski, or both. Ideally, of course, you should have a good level of “all-terrain / all-snow” skiing.

These outings are supervised in the air by an instructor, on the ground by a driver and a shuttle for recovery and return to take-off.

All our paragliding courses run from Sunday to Thursday! Why is that? If the weather isn’t good every day, we can postpone the course until the following Saturday. And if the weather is good, then you still have the rest of the week to enjoy the mountains in flight or on foot! Either way, you get the most out of your week.
